Microwave Chickpeas

So while I don't like chickpeas I do like hummus and one time when we made roasted chickpeas I didn't mind them. So if cake and candy have been just too unhealthy for you here is a recipe that will fix that :)

The Ingredients:
A can of chickpeas
Your choice of seasoning
Olive oil

Start by rinsing out your peas. And mix in your olive oil and seasoning.

Flatten out the chickpeas on a plate and cook until they're as cooked as you like.

Pour into a bowl and enjoy!

Vanilla Minecraft Sorter!

A Sorting machine in VANILLA minecraft!!!
Enough said.

The ingredients:
8 cobble blocks
2 pieces of redstone
A chest
Redstone torch
Redstone repeaters
Redstone Comparators
And hoppers.

Put your blocks  in this shape.

Put the comparator on the top and repeater on the bottom.

Place the redstone on the top of the stone structure.

Add a redstone torch as shown.

Now place your final block in front of the torch.

Put a chest on top.

Now place a hopper on top of the torch making sure the hopper is pointing at the chest.
Do the same thing on top but make it point towards the comparator.

On the top hopper put what you want to sort in this amount:

Depending on how many of these you make just attach a hopper at the end and a row of them faces it as shown. Add a chest to the hoppers.

Fastest Minecraft Pipe!

Until minecraft 1.5 there were few ways to transport goods such as food, cobble, or ores. Since the Hoppers and Droppers come out in 1.5 there has been makeshift pipes. But this one is the best of all of them:

The Ingredients:
Redstone repeaters
Droppers
Blocks
Levers
Redstone

Start by digging out every other block making a line.

Fill your holes with repeaters.

Place blocks on the surface next to the holes.

Put repeaters in the spaces in between.

Drop you droppers over your holes making a straight line. And make sure they all point the same direction.

Connect repeaters to the blocks that start the machine ( the back ).

Add a lever.

Now to start the machine fill the first dropper with items and flick the switch on and off. You could also add a clock if you want ( but that makes annoying clicking noises so...).
Thanks for reading and enjoy!!!

Lets Eat #5 Microwave Pudding

Since it snowed here and summer officially ended so its time to crack out the fun winter recipes! I found this recipe HERE.

The ingredients:
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
 1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 egg
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix together the sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and corn starch.

Slowly whisk in the milk.

In a separate bowl whisk the egg.

Microwave until thick. This took me 30-60 seconds or so.

Whisk half of they pudding into the egg mixture and then back into the pudding.

Cool until thickened.

Whisk in your butter and vanilla. Don't over mix or your pudding thins out.

Top with whipped cream and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice!

This is going to be a quick and easy post that (hopefully) can be made in no time! I used
Beef In-A-Mug which I don't think is sold in America. I get my grandma to send me some in the mail from canada but any bouillon works. In the original version of this recipe I used chicken bouillon so just use what you have. :)

1 tsp onion powder
1tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground pepper
1 Tbsp beef bouillon
Microwave Popcorn

Mix together you spices.

Microwave your popcorn and sprinkle on your spices. And thats it!

Noob Tutorials #2 Ruby Code chapter 5

in the last three chapters we went through the l-4 we learned how to put strings/words on the terminal and how to do math! in this chapter we learn how to store thing for the FUTURE  so to do this all you need to do is

var1 = 2
var2 = 5

puts var1 + var2

it will say 7 it basically var puts the stuff after the = it in to storage with in that tab.We also learned how to get input form YOU all you need is to do is.Lets say i want your name is what we can say is

puts 'hello there, and what\'s your name?'
name = gets.chomp
puts 'your name is ' + name + '? what a lovely name!'
puts 'pleased to meet you, ' + name + '. :)'

the  name = gets.chomp you don't need name you can use hello, yes or, save anything you want as long as you have the = gets.chomp. so that is the big things that i learned over this chapter.

Lets Eat #3 Mocha cake! (in the microwave)

Another recipe I stole from my moms recipe book because it is so good! This cake is one of my favorites because (unlike my chocolate cake) this one has flavor. For some reason I was really annoyed at the fact that my chocolate cake that I used to make almost every day is completely disgusting. It was rubbery, flavorless, and eggy. So try this instead of that.

The ingredients:
3 Tbsp butter
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp beaten egg
1/2 Tsp vanilla
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp flour
3 Tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 Tsp baking soda
1/4 Tsp baking powder
1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp STRONG coffee.

Add your sugar and butter to a bowl.

Beat it until fluffy.

Add egg and vanilla

Mix that together.

Add all of your dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well.

And now gather up your coffee, dry ingredients, and butter mixture.

Add your flour mixture to the butter mixture 1/3 at a time.

And then add a 1/2 of your coffee to the batter.

Replete until all of the flour mixture and coffee is gone.

Microwave for 1-2 minutes or until the cake is fully cooked.

I hope you like this recipe and in two weeks this will come up again so try it and then be prepared to have some more!

Noob Tutorials #1 Ruby Code

I will be going through the Learn To Program Ruby book. So for the first week i did chapters 1-4 and the firs assignment was.

Hours in a year. How many hours are in a year?
Minutes in a decade. How many minutes are in a decade?
Your age in seconds. How many seconds old are you?

and the answer is.

puts 24 * 365

puts 60 * 24 * 365 * 10

puts 60 * 60 * 24 * 365 * 15

to do this you will need a code editor, I'm currently using TextWrangler. To execute my ruby programs, I will be the command line. To get to the command line on a Mac, use the Terminal application (you can find it under: /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app. I'm using this book: Learn to Program by Chris Pine.

Lets Eat #2 Pop Tarts!

These are "CRAZY GOOD" as they say in the TV commercial. When I first made this post I posted it on my blog BoyWhoCooks and why BoyWhoCooks doesn't  have a link is because I broke it. Not the link but the blog. I some how got locked out so don't try to find it. Enough small talk lets jump into the recipe!

The Ingredients:

Pie crust
your choice of filling
Egg
icing sugar ( optional )
Milk ( optional )

Start by flouring out a work surface.

Roll out and cut out long wide strips of dough.

Beat your egg with a little bit of water to make an egg wash.

Now for the fun part! Smear a thick layer of filling on to half of your pastry leaving a 1/4-1/2 an inch of pastry uncovered at the edges.

Fold the dough over to make a pocket

Poke some holes in the top.

Bake until browned about 10-12 minutes.

Mix icing sugar and milk to make a thick glaze and add cocoa powder, peanut butter, or other flavorings.

Glaze your pop tarts and your done!
